How to Make Fresh Lemonade the Villa Bologna Way
We’re so lucky to have an abundance of lemons growing in our garden at Villa Bologna and with a surplus of this zesty fruit, there’s nothing quite like preparing a carafe of homemade fresh lemonade to squeeze the day!
For a Mediterranean twist, we love serving lemonade in our coloured set of Bellotto tumblers at home and in The Villa Bologna Restaurant.
Here is how we make fresh lemonade:
Ingredients:
100ml of freshly squeezed lemon juice
1 tablespoons of honey or 50ml of sugar syrup (to make the sugar syrup dissolve 75g if caster sugar in 50ml of water over a lower heat, leave to cook)
2 large handfuls of ice
500ml San Pellegrino (or use still water if you prefer no bubbles)
A small bunch of fresh mint leaves
Method:
Add the lemon juice, sugar syrup, ice and water to a blender and blitz until the ice has been crushed and it is very well blended. Serve straight away with fresh mint leaves as a garnish. Serve in our new Bellotto glass tumblers.
